The Goodwin Diversity Fellowships

Investing in Future Leaders.

It’s not enough to say we want a diverse legal community. As a national leading member of the profession, we have to invest in a diverse legal community. So we put our money where it counts: in the hands of high-achieving second-year law students of color. The Goodwin Diversity Fellowship presents $15,000 awards every year. Our goal is to promote diversity in the legal profession and at our firm. Fellowship winners may apply their award toward any law school-related expense and are not required to accept an offer of employment from Goodwin Procter.

In September 2007, we launched a new venture with one of our clients, Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company to create a new fellowship. The Annual Goodwin MassMutual Diversity Fellowship will award $15,000 to a qualified law student of color. In addition to being a part of Goodwin Procter’s summer associate program, recipients have the option of working for two weeks with MassMutual’s Legal Department.

If you’re a second-year law student of color who is applying for a summer associate position with Goodwin Procter, you’re eligible to apply for a Goodwin Diversity Fellowship or the Goodwin MassMutual Diversity Fellowship.

"When I met all of the other fellows at the awards ceremony, I realized how lucky I am to be in this group of recipients, because everyone is just so immensely talented and interesting."
